Selfies / 17,000% Increase

... Hebe and Catherine take a selfie ...
November 19, 2013 Oxford Dictionaries announced selfie as their international Word of the Year 2013.

The Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year is a word or expression that has attracted a great deal of interest during the year to date.

Language research conducted by Oxford Dictionaries editors reveals that the frequency of the word selfie in the English language has increased by 17,000% since this time last year.

How many selfies have been published on this blog?
stickers enhance the natural beauty of a backpack,
exponentially perfected ... the more the merrier

More than this one of Hebe and Catherine, I think.

Feel free to take a selfie and add it to the blog.

And just for your interest, here is how Hebe spent more of her birthday money: stickers for her backpack.

How could a cute little girl have spent money better?

  1. David says he has a good amount of reading space in his brain but it is hard to reply to posts because he has only four memory slots in his brain. They get used up fast.

He has a backpack he loves. It is so well used it has holes that his recorder for music class at school can fall out of. His mom has bought him two other backpacks but he won't use them. They are not the same as his old one (they are like a pair of old jeans -- they fit him just right). So the recorder gores in a large Baggie to make it too big to fall out of the holes in the backpack.

  2. Hi David,

I like the image of your backpack. You would make Jack Johnson happy. Do you know his song about the 3 R's. I like the drums in the song and the recurring lyrics: reduce, reuse, recycle.

Hope you have time to listen to it.

Connor would be very pleased to hear about your backpack. He likes things to be really, REALLY used up. My guess is that your backpack might have another couple of years in it, from the description your mom gives of it.
