Hoping for something tamer

Photo: Rebecca.           ... street scene as I arrive home...
From Rebecca:

Yes, it does suck a bit... arriving home in the car and finding 3 firetrucks and an ambulance in front of the house, pumping water in through a window.

Well.... this is why there is insurance.

Here we are in a two bedroom suite hotel that takes dogs (downtown... sort of a luxury resort, actually).  Still will be a challenge to figure out what to do with Kiwi for the day, but... I will just take her to class with me tomorrow.

Steve heads up island tomorrow for 2 days of meetings in Campbell River, so the boys and dog and I will just be hanging out here.

The fire was from an unattended candle.

Still... it could have been worse, so.... the remediation people have already put an airscrubber in the house tonight, and will start on the cleanup in the morning. The adjuster will also be over tomorrow to get the rest of the process started... the fire chief (when he was getting ready to leave) said, "Don't worry, soon enough your life will be back to normal."

Normal?!

This IS normal for us. I am hoping for something tamer than normal....

  2. We are always putting out fires.......it's just that they usually aren't the real kind of fire.
