Madrid, Spain

From Catherine

Today Eric presented his poster.

It was a challenge to get the poster to stick to the wall with the tape that was provided.

We had a lot of fun watching the creativity of others as they too struggled to use the two sided tape provided.

That is a whole story in and of itself.

Here we are in Madrid's Plaza Major.

The heart of old Madrid.

Site of bull fights, wedding and birth celebrations of the kings, and of course condemnation of heretics during the inquisition.

Executions, burning a at the stake, death by garrotte and hangings.

You notice I am keeping a vigilant eye out for fear of being called a heretic.

Eric and I ate in the worlds oldest restaurant-- Restaurante Sobrino de Botin.

Established in 1725, it has made it into novels including by Ernest Hemingway.

We ate their roast suckling pig and roast lamb cooked in wood-fired ovens.

Delicious.

Won't need any more meat for a month.
