Bates - San Cristobal Hill

Greg and I are at the top of San Cristobal Hill. The architecture in Santiago is new and interesting.

Greg has done one of his fabulous framed photos here. This building is shaped like a cell phone.
And at the very top of the hill is a very large statue of Mary.

The photo below shows the tallest building in South America. In the background one can see the Andes and yes, that is snow on the top of the moutons. Today the temperature reached 43 degrees celsius in the city.

The funicular takes a person 3/4 of the way up the hill. The rest of it is done on foot. I climbed half way to the very top. Greg went all the way up. I was worried about getting down the steps and there was no rail and uneven cobblestone stairs.  Greg has the zoom on me in the photo below. In the first photo you can only see me as a speck. It was a great day!
